Joys

  • For wonderful worship and fellowship that was experienced at the Children/Youth Choir Festival this weekend in Denver. Around 25 Cornerstone kids attended.

Prayer Requests

Please pray for the following:

  • Larry Marrs and Charlotte, and Lyn and Phyllis Robinson as they continue on in Larry and Lyn’s cancer treatments.
  • Chuck Jack and his family as they grieve the loss of Sandy, Bob Schmidt’s family, the family of Judy Young, May the God of all comfort draw near.
  • Kay Stein as she recovers from a hip replacement this past week. For rest and healing.
  • For healing and peace for others in stages of recovery and rehab: Donna Yantis (broken femur/swelling), Sherry Balliet (heart procedure), Mike Wiseman (toe and foot).
  • Our Pastor Search Team as they pray, work, and discern.
  • Visitors and those new to the church to feel the presence of our Lord and the warmth and welcoming of His people.
  • The Congolese church and Eritrean fellowship who are meeting here at Cornerstone.
  • Those in our church family volunteering at the Global Refugee Center.

Community Connect

Annual Gala for Resource Center:
Make an immediate impact for babies in the womb by learning how to partner with this medical mission. Seats are still available for the Thursday, March 7th Dinner at the DoubleTree Hotel (6:00 – 8:00 pm). To add your names to the waiting list talk with Gail Holmes, call the Center at 353-2673, or email HR-event@pregnancygreeley.com. Speaker is comedian Mike Williams. Come celebrate the gift of LIFE with us!

Men’s ministry hockey game. Join us as we watch the NoCo Junior Eagles take on the Dallas Snipers at the Ice Haus on Saturday, March 2. Puck drops at 3:45 pm. The cost is $20 (this gets the ticket, brats, beverages and helps to support the car clinic!). This is an all-guys’ type of event – bring your sons and grandsons, neighbors and friends! Sign up by calling the church office, signing up in the atrium or emailing Donny Butkus at donny@csgreeley.org.

Deacon Report for the 4th Quarter 2018
During October-December, 2018, Deacons reported sending 133 cards, making 57 calls, 68 home visits, and 18 hospital visits, for a total of 276 contacts with seniors and those with health concerns. For all of 2018, there were over 1000 contacts reported!

Missions

Thank you so much for your support of the Elshadai fundraiser and Slammin’ Famine. Both events gave opportunities to support children around the world.

Soccer Without Borders is looking for Soccer Moms to drive students to and from games, provide snacks for the team and cheer on the players. A minimum of 4 Saturdays beginning
in March is needed. Contact zach@soccerwithoutborders.org to sign up or to ask questions.

March 3- Greeley Church Choir Hymn Festival – Guest Organist- First Congregational at 4:00 p.m.

March 6th- Ash Wednesday worship service in the Sanctuary at 6:30pm. We will mark the beginning of the Lenton season with a short time of worship, reflection, and the imposition of the cross.

Children

Sunday School classes: There are Sunday school classes available for our children ages Preschool to 5th grade during middle hour every week.

Children’s Church: During the service this month, children ages 3-3rd grade are exploring the story of the boy Jesus in the temple (Luke 2:41-52). We’ll be wondering, exploring, and responding to God together around this idea. Join us as we worship God through wonder and creativity!

  • For the many volunteers and staff that make the memorial services at Cornerstone so life honoring and glorifying to God! Ramona Baker, Gerry Miyoshi, a beautiful kitchen staff, ministering Ushers, our Worship Arts folks and many others make these services such a gift to the families.
  • For the wonderful fellowship and success of the fundraising banquet of the El Shaddai ministry to Ethiopian children and the fun and fellowship of over 55 women at the recent “Movie Night.”

Starting Point is our new members class. Our next Starting Point will be on Sunday, Feb. 24 immediately following the second service (12:30 pm) in the Community Room. Lunch will be provided and childcare is available upon request. Please register HERE! 

The Memorial Service for Bob Schmidt will be next Saturday, February 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at Cornerstone with a reception to follow.

Deacon-Sponsored Event: Balance: A Proactive Approach to Fall-Prevention
When: Wednesday, February 20, from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm
Where: Celebration Center
You are all invited to attend our second prevention-oriented dinner and program presented by Whitney Janzen-Pankratz—Weld Aging Well, and Diana Bleignier— Stability class instructor at the Fun Plex and Greeley Rec Center. A simple soup supper at 6 pm will precede the program at 6:30 pm; you do not need to sign up. Invite interested friends and wear flat, comfortable shoes to participate in a short class sampler. Learn about community resources available for 60+ and Silver Sneakers.
