The next Fellowship Lunch is coming up on Thursday, Nov. 14th at noon in the Celebration Center. Lunch will be prepared and the cost is $2. Marvin Easter and the Music Ministry Assistants will be providing the entertainment. Please sign up at the Welcome Center or call the church office (352-3030).

Volunteers Wanted: One or two volunteers each week to tend the Welcome Center during the Sunday services and to help out at the Coffee Bar between services. If interested, please contact Greg Gunnells (greggunnells@comcast.net.) for the Welcome Center, or Butch and Sandee Strobel (sbstrobel@gmail.com) to volunteer at the Coffee Bar. You may also sign up online on the Sign-up and Forms page.

Driving Volunteers: Our own Rhoda Rogers needs help getting to church on Sundays from the Greeley Place. Please visit the Welcome Center for more info and to sign up.

Pledge Sunday will be Nov. 24. Each year we set aside a Sunday to commit ourselves (resources, time, energy, etc.) to the Kingdom work that is happening in and through Cornerstone. Watch for more details in the weeks to come.

Gingerbread House Build: Save the Date! The Children’s and Youth area are teaming up to offer the community gingerbread house build again this year on Saturday, December 14, from 10am-12pm. Everyone is invited – all ages and stages. Stay tuned for more details!

Help Greeley Light the Night by being a part of the hospitality provided by Cornerstone during the Greeley Lights the Night parade Sat., 11/30. We are the safe-space drop-off for youth participating in the parade, which starts outside of our front doors on 9th Avenue. We’ll be serving hot chocolate & caroling before the parade, and opening the atrium & restrooms to visitors. Sign up at csgreeley.org. Questions? LightSeekers will have a Potluck lunch at noon on Friday, November 15, in the Celebration Center. Please bring a dish to share and table service. If you have questions please contact Mary Fagerberg at 970-353-1743.

November is Homeless Awareness Month

Please see the Volunteer Notebook – small groups needed to help provide food for Abundant Life Lunches in 2020. In cooperation with other Greeley churches, Cornerstone provides a meal on the third Saturday of each month at Abundant Life Fellowship Church. Various small groups step up to help with this ministry.

Monday Lunch Bunch provides a meal each Monday in our Celebration Center. Sign up on the clipboard at the Welcome Center to bring soup to serve 20-25.

The Cold Weather Shelter will open on November 1. Donations to United Way of Weld County with “cold weather shelter” on the memo line will help to keep

Operation Christmas Child
It’s time to get ready for the Operation Christmas Child Shoe Box Campaign. We will be in the atrium to hand out boxes and information starting November 3rd. The final shoe box return date will be Sunday, November 24th. We are also hanging out the HELP WANTED sign. If you would be interested in taking over the coordination of the Shoe Box fun please see us at the table in the atrium. We will help train you.

The opening fundraiser for the 2020 Habitat Faith Build is the 3rd Annual Cookie Walk will be Saturday, December 7 from 9 – 12 in the Belair at Zoe’s Cafe. If you love to bake Christmas cookies the first week of December and can contribute a dozen or more, contact Jean Smith (richjean@aol.com). If you prefer to buy homemade cookies, come and purchase from a wide selection on the 7th.

The Guadalupe Non-Event Ball runs through November and helps to support the individuals and families participating in their program for employment and housing stability. Make checks to Catholic Charities with “Guadalupe Ball” on the memo line. Mail checks to 1442 N 11th Ave, 80631.

Worship & Music

Advent Worship Experience – Dec. 1, 5:00pm in the Celebration Center. All are invited to this multi-generational worship event to celebrate the beginning of the Advent season. We will join together around a light meal, creative activities and music to help us prepare for the season. Please sign up on the website. csgreeley.org.

Christmas at Cornerstone Concert Dec. 8 at 4:00pm.
Featuring Chancel Choir, Youth Ensemble, Childrens Choir, Handbells, and a guest string ensemble. Tickets are available at the Welcome Center to give out as invitations (the concert is FREE.)

Youth

Children

Children’s Church (during services): Every month, we focus on one story and tell it in different ways. We spend time listening to God and responding to the story we’ve heard. This month, we are learning the story of Jesus calming the storm (Mark 4:35-41). All children ages 3-3rd grade are invited to join us as we explore this story together.

Dwell (9:45-10:45): All children ages 3-5th grade are invited to join us for Dwell, our Sunday school classes this school year. Here are the stories we’re digging into this week:

Preschool: Moses: Joshua and the Tall Wall (Joshua 6:1-21)
Kindergarten & 1st grade: Ruth (Ruth 1:1-18)
2nd & 3rd grade: Jesus Heals the Centurion’s Servant (Luke 7:1-10)
4th & 5th grade: The Talents (Matthew 25:14-30)

Fall clean up of the church grounds will be Sat., Nov. 9 at 8 am (weather permitting). Bring your gloves and rakes. We will be picking up leaves and cleaning up the property. All ages are invited to join in. Feel free to show up at 8:00am or anytime after and help for as long as you are able – every bit of help is greatly appreciated.

Stephen Ministry Training Update
Stephen Ministry trainees will be introduced to Mental Health professionals and other community resources, including when referrals are indicated for individuals in crisis.

Welcome Our Musicians
Music Ministry Assistants (MMA’s) – We are so grateful to have Nate Snyder and Seth Riley returning as tenor section leaders. We welcome Chavilah Anderson-Clare (soprano), Grace Peck (Alto) and Nathan Jensen (Bass and Handbells).

Accompanist – We are also happy to welcome Gabriel Bita as our temporary choir accompanist. Gabriel comes to us from Denton, Texas where he worked at Texas Women’s University. He is a freelance pianist accompanying many students at UNC. His degrees are from Oberlin in Ohio and Julliard.
