MISSION STATEMENT

The Cornerstone Community Church of Greeley Foundation provides a means by which those who love Christ’s Church can leave a financial legacy, during or after their lifetime, for support of Christian ministries affiliated with Cornerstone Community Church of Greeley, Colorado. Gifts, designated and non-designated, once accepted belong solely to our Lord, Jesus Christ and will be used to further His Kingdom here on Earth as guided by our faith statement.

The Foundation ascribes to the guiding principles and standards set forth by the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability. It is governed by a Board of Directors. The Board members serve three-year rotating terms and are accountable to the Session of the church. Current board members are church members with interests or backgrounds in business, accounting, financial planning or legal backgrounds.

The Foundation has been set up to assist individuals and couples to provide a legacy in funding ministries of the church while utilizing appropriate tax-saving strategies. There are many vehicles available to leave lasting financial support for the work of the church.

The Foundation may accept gifts of:
Cash
Appreciated Assets (i.e. stocks, bonds, mutual funds, real estate, and personal property)

Gifts can be designated and/or non-designated. Gifts to the Foundation for which a use is not stipulated are considered non-designated, whether current or deferred. The Foundation Board will allocate earnings from these gifts according to ministry needs of the church. A designated gift is one for which a special purpose is desired.

Gifts may be designated to aid in funding one or more of the ongoing ministries of the church, including:
~ Missions Endowment
~ Church Ministries such as Children’s Ministry, Music Ministry, etc.
~ Facilities

Undesignated gifts will be combined to provide lasting financial support to the ministries of the church.

Deferred gifts are those which become fully available to the Foundation at a later date, generally coinciding with the death of the donor. Examples of deferred gifts that have tax advantages for the donor(s) are listed below. This is not an exhaustive list; your tax advisor and/or attorney will be able to help determine the best vehicle for achieving your intentions.
