Hello Cornerstone family,
A very blessed 2019 to us all! Your Mission Team is grateful to all of you who came during the middle hour on January 6th. We hope you have a good picture of all that your giving is doing locally and globally.

So much has happened since the November Focus! Your generosity resulted in $20,000.00 to World Vision for wells in Ethiopia; the family packing event resulted in more Operation Christmas Child boxes than ever; many children were blessed by Christmas gifts through Angel Tree, and Habitat raised $1,000.00 toward the 2019 Faith Build at their Cookie Walk. In addition, Cornerstone welcomed the community during the Greeley Lights the Night parade and offered space for Genesis Project for an exercise class and a Christmas luncheon. The Congolese International Church is happily meeting in the chapel on Sunday evenings. And, the fun we had when Jared brought 30 plus middle schoolers from Soccer Without Borders to build gingerbread houses!

As we begin 2019, there are several opportunities coming up which may attract you. Dave Shelley has already told us about the need for Friendship Families for International Students, Inc. This involves including a UNC student in some of your family activities during the semester. Contact dshelley@isionline.org if you’re interested in this ministry.

The Elshadai fundraiser will be held in the Celebration Center on February 10th from 5 to 7 pm. To attend, sponsor a table or to provide a silent auction item, sign up at the table in the Atrium.

Sanctity of Life Sunday is January 20th. There will be an insert in the Connect. Please include The Resource Center, Gail Holmes and the staff and volunteers in your prayers. Looking ahead, the Resource Center Gala will be held on March 7th this year at the Doubletree.

Slammin’ Famine is coming February 15th to 17th at The Events Center, 5280 Arena Circles, Loveland. Cornerstone has 25 spots reserved from 2 to 4 pm on Saturday, February 16th and 25 spots from 6 to 8 pm on the same day. This a totally family-friendly event: children 5 and up can participate in packing food to be sent to mission agencies all over the world. In just 2 hours so much is accomplished! Sign up on the church web site. IF you need to explore other time spots, go to www.slamminfamine.org at 8 am on Monday, January 14th to sign up.

As our church continues in transition, we will continue to pray for our Cornerstone ministries. In January please pray for Life Groups/leaders; the Prayer Team; and Outreach/Hospitality (ushers, greeters, Welcome Center). In February focus on the Pastor Search Team; Youth Ministries; and Women’s Ministries. We will pray together at Jean and Dick Smith’s house on January 25th and February 22nd from 7 to 8 pm. All are welcome. Please also be in prayer over the Middle East trip and the Tanzania trip.

Blessings on the start of 2019!

Your Mission Team,

Jean, Dick, Pam, Marcia, Shaunda, and Gary
